San Juan (Hato Rey: The King's Ranch)

Just over a canal from Santurce (which you might barely notice) lies the thriving banking district of not only San Juan but of Latin America in general.  Hato Rey which was once the king's cattle ranch and was also once a part of Rio Piedras, the borough was broken into three neighborhoods in the early twentieth century.  Among them is the "Golden Mile," a stretch of international banks from around the world.  But there are other surprises here as well-- quaint and quirky neighborhoods, coffee houses and cafes as well as the Tren Urbano, which is bringing new residents to this once "business day only" neighborhood.
